Biography
They formed in Leeds, Yorkshire, England,
in 1999, Vivian Lady and George Breaker met back in 1995. They moved
in Leeds, UK in 1997 as students and continued upgrading their analogue
synthesiser collection. They were visualising a retro electronic sound
with powerful industrial guitars and vocals. In 1999 Little Match
Girl was created. The original
Hans Christian Andersen 1846 tale 'The Little Match Girl', which ends unhappily, inspired them to be their identity.
LMG's first live appearance was in March 2000
at the old thrilling Duchess in Leeds as an opening act for Inkubus
Sukkubus. Later on the same year played more shows throughout the
UK and released their first demo LMG ep, which included 10 tracks.
Unfortunately the same year in October 2000 after one of their gigs
in London, the band had a serious car accident on their way back
home. This caused many problems to the band for some time by having
to deal with health issues, and psychological damage. Vivian had
to recover from three serious fractures on the jaw and shoulder,
equipment had to get repaired, shows had to be cancelled and new
songs were to be delayed. By the summer of 2001 they were working
flat out to catch up with the time they've lost and
finished mixing seven new tracks. During April the band was preparing
to go on tour as a supporting act for 'Queen Adreena' but didn’t work
out due to unexplained reasons. 'Computer Controlled' was released
in November 2001 after a single with the remix of ‘Victim’.
Their live come back was for the Whitby Goth Weekend 9.0 on April 2002. In the beginning of summer they’ve started working on new albums’ material. The completion and release details are to be confirmed. In August 2002 LMG visited a state of the art studio in Liverpool (Parr Street Studios) and mixed the single ‘Burn me up’, using money from the accident compensation.
Few weeks later ‘Burn me up‘ was played on TotalRock.com on September 15/ 2002 on Natasha's 'Bat cave' show.
The bands new album will be released from Planetghost Music and is expected in March 2003.
